Making an Effective Argument article talks about how there was a YouTube user who posted a video on his account that had to do with him explaining an argument that he wanted to share with the world. Then it goes into how when approaching an argument, you must not assume that everyone who hears or reads about it feels the same way. The only way that you can have a good argument is when you give reasons and facts to help make your claim and have people be on your side of an argument. Also writing an argumentative paper in college could be pretty challenging depending on the topic you may be writing about. You must also build the credibility in your argument so that your audience can take what you're saying as something serious. Like what is the point of writing an essay that doesn't have good enough sources to back up your argument. When writing an argumentative essay, you must consider every point that can come out of it and how the opposite side can counter argue your side.

The Global Financial Crisis article talks about the different types of causes that cause a financial crisis. The Great Depression hit our country really hard where almost everyone lost their money that was in the bank. Banks used to be safe but boring but after the great depression is when they started doing things differently, so nothing like that would happen again. The United States is probably the top country in debt today and here is why. There were many foreclosures and not much trade going on because there was no money to make all these things happen. The way America fixed this problem was being Congress passing bills that basically say it's okay to take this money and invest to make more profit so the great depression wouldn't happen again. Reflections on #Occupy Everywhere: Social Media, Public Sphere and Emerging Logics of Aggregation article talks about a group of people who decided to march and protest through the streets of Boston. This was an organized event where people would protest in creative ways and it went on for a pretty long time. The article says that yes many people were arrested while protesting. The way that all these protesters knew when and where the events were happening was through social media. It also talks about different protest that used to happen a few years prior to the #Occupy one. I can see how the whole social media and public sphere tie in with each other since they are using social media to stay connected with the protest, which is in a public place. The #Occupy moments have created new discursive and political conditions of possibility. It's difficult to get a social movement going and to get the type of respect you can say to show that what these protesters are doing actually matter.

It is also said in the article that libraries should still try to purse what were trying to since the beginning of them. It is to build a different type of space/environment that it was originally meant to give off. Libraries give off a different space which is called third space. Since it's an absolute space, it presents as highly, powerful constructed institution. Towards the end of the article it claims that the more we give dominate space to libraries, we go against a certain the rules and agenda of the system. Manifestation of Culture in Website Design talks about how the web is a global phenomenon and how non-English speaking users have dramatically increased over the last decade. I agree with point 2 in the article talking about how it's difficult to define culture because every culture is different from each other. Hofstede's four cultural dimensions consists of 1) Power distance, 2) Individualism vs. Collectivism, 3) Masculinity vs. Femininity and 4) Uncertainty avoidance. There was also a study done in South Korea and the United Kingdom that had to do with 40 different charity websites. There is a table that explains how high or how low they are in Hofstede's four cultural dimensions. As they were doing the study on the two different cultures, they tended to focus more on all the homepages. They looked at colors of the websites and how many websites used a certain color. When it came to animation and pictures and videos, South Korea had a higher amount of websites than the United Kingdom. These are just a few examples from the article that show how different cultures websites are similar and different.

Something that did catch my attention was the title that said Use What You've Learned. Shows how it's a smart idea to share with your peers about your work that you have done on your website. Also to give your own kind of ethnic background to the website. Like kind of giving a little bit of you into the making of your website. Also to explore other websites so you can what would work well on your own website or what won't work well.
